The Youth Ice Sculpture Tournament has ended in Perm

From January 5 to 9, the Youth Ice Sculpture Tournament was held in Perm. It was the first event that Perm officially held in its new status as the Youth Capital of Russia 2025. One of the main goals of the event was to popularize ice sculpture as a unique direction of contemporary art.

Thus, five teams of young artists competed in the competition: Ice Jam from Yekaterinburg, Tobolsky Potok from the Tyumen Region, Ice Clan from the Perm Region, the Lucky Ones team from the Republic of Adygea and the Sverdlovsk Region, as well as the Belarusian team Svetorok from Minsk.

The jury distributed the places as follows: 1st place went to the Tobolsky Potok team from the Tyumen Region, the sculpture On the Wave. The work is inspired by Siberian rivers, whose waters flow through several countries, creating bridges between cultures. 2nd place – Ice Jam team from Yekaterinburg, sculpture “Slamdunk in space”. The idea of the work unites art, sports and space as three powerful vectors that symbolize the desire for development and forward movement. 3rd place – Ice Clan team from Perm Krai, sculpture “Alkonost”. The authors were inspired by the image of Alkonost – a fabulous bird of paradise from Byzantine and Slavic legends. This is a sea bird symbolizing God's providence and mercy.
